Charles Newton Price - Director

Charles was born in Lima, Peru. He lived in Venezuela for most of his youth and immigrated to Canada as a teenager. He graduated from the University of Calgary in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. Charles completed his Masters of Science in 2007 with a focus in biotechnology and recently obtained an MBA from the University of Western Ontario . He is currently working in the telecommunications industry. He is the author of various biotechnology journal articles and a recipient of academic awards. Charles has worked and traveled extensively throughout Asia, Europe and the Americas. His exposure to different cultures and lifestyles augmented his aspirations of helping to bridge existing gaps between industrialized nations and the developing world.

Lisa Smith - Director

Lisa is originally from Kelowna, British Columbia. She has a degree in International Relations, with a minor in Italian Studies from the University of Calgary. Lisa has spent time living and working in Italy, Ireland, China, Brazil and Uganda, as well as interning at the Embassy of Canada in Washington DC. Passionate about challenges facing people living on the margins of society, she has also spent many years as a frontline worker with Calgary's homeless populations. She currently lives in Mexico, spending time on local projects, studying for her MA in Human Security and Peacebuilding from Royal Roads University, and being a mama to her son Mateo. She continues to focus her energies on practical and sustainable community development initiatives, and occasionally gets to visit the beaches.  

Cristina Amaro Benzaquen - Director

She was born in Lima, Peru and immigrated to Canada as a young adult. Cristina attained numerous academic awards while she completed her Bachelor of Commerce degree in International Business, with a Minor in Italian at the University of Calgary. She has sat as Secretary of the Projects and Events Committee for the United Nations Canada Calgary Branch, traveled to Chiapas, Mexico as a translator with a clinical mission team and volunteered for several organizations in the Calgary community. Passionate about human right issues, Cristina would like to work towards reducing gaps in equality and help individuals explore their full potential.
